Short Term Support

The right support, at the right time.

Not every student needs tutoring for the whole school year.

Sometimes they need focused support around one particular challenge, a transition or simply a period when some extra help would make a real difference.

Focused on what matters now

Short term support gives us the flexibility to concentrate on a specific need without turning it into an ongoing commitment.

We agree what the student needs help with and shape the sessions around making progress in that area within the time available.

Short term support can work well for

  • A particular maths topic that has become a sticking point
  • Catching up after falling behind
  • Preparing for the move from primary to secondary school
  • Changing schools
  • Adjusting to a different curriculum or learning environment
  • Families who are temporarily based in Queenstown
  • Students spending part of the year in Queenstown, including the ski season
  • A concentrated period where extra support would make a difference

What it could look like

For one student, this might mean three or four weeks of focused tutoring to rebuild understanding in one area of maths.

For another, it could mean regular support while they are spending a term or season in Queenstown.

The structure depends on the reason for the tutoring and what we are trying to achieve together.

Short term does not mean less visibility.

Parents have access to their own parent portal, where they can see what we have been working on, session notes, progress and the next areas of focus.

You can also communicate directly with us through the portal.

Even over a shorter period, parents should have a clear picture of what the tutoring is achieving.
